Create Consistency, Consistency = Comfort. Designers want to include repeated elements throughout your work. The idea behind this is to manifest unity, flow, consistency, and clarity. Repeated elements in Online Design are often grouped into 3 categories: Rhythm, Pattern/Texture, and Repetition.
Think of your web page as a popular song, within that song is chorus. The chorus of the song provides unity and clarity to the overall message of the song.

Repetition can come in the form of shapes, line thickness, font selections, spatial relationships, size, texture, etc… You can look within the current design of your page and try to enhance aspects of importance to bring balance and unity, although be careful to not overdue the repetition to the point that it becomes an eyesore and overwhelming.
